I am, in fact, still here.
The intensity of travel days over the last few weeks has consumed my time, but I should have time to post mornings this week.
🚗 I've traveled northward along the Blue Ridge, past moonshining hotspots, to arrive at Breaks Interstate Park, Virginia.
⛰️ My lodge room looks out over a gorge where a loop of river has carved out elongated bluffs called "The Towers".
📷 I was able to capture sunset highlighting them last night. There are more views from other overlooks that I'll share.

Die Kampenwandbahn wurde am 08. Juli 1957 eröffnet und bringt seitdem quasi im Originalzustand Jahr für Jahr viele Menschen auf den Berg. Dazu noch folgendes Bonmot: „I gangad gern auf‘d Kampenwand, wann i mit meina Wampm kannt.“

This week, I had the opportunity to stay 2 nights at the Pic du Midi #Observatory, in the french Pyrénées. I captured some #timelapse from this site, which is still magical.
I was astonished by the dynamism of this observatory: new domes, new #instruments, new projects and new buildings. #Research in #astronomy in the metropolitan #France is performing like a charm.
