Monreith Bay has many a tale to tell. St Medana was miraculously transported here on a floating rock, to found the beautifully atmospheric church of Kirmaiden. One of the oldest churches in Scotland. #Scotland #history #legend #folklore #blackandwhitephotography

#Trump has been very vocal about the case, calling it one of the most important in #US #history & saying a ruling against him would be an economic body blow to the country. But #legal opposition crossed the political spectrum, including #libertarian & pro-#business groups that are typically aligned with the #GOP. Polling has found tariffs are NOT broadly popular with the public, amid wider voter concern about #affordability. #law #economy #geopolitics #SCOTUS #inflation #CostOfLiving

This is Black Thunder, a Sioux man taken around 1908. Across the 18th and 19th centuries, boundaries between Black and Native worlds were not fixed but lived through enslavement, escape, intermarriage, alliance, and shared confrontation with a nation expanding over both. Yet records rarely capture that complexity. The portrait names him but does not explain. A man made visible, a history only partially told. Library of Congress. 🛸 Buzludzha is a massive Communist monument in the Bulgarian mountains. Its Brutalist saucer design and 107m tower with a red star made it a landmark of the Eastern Bloc. Since 1989, harsh winters and neglect left the interior and its 25 tonnes of mosaics in ruins. Now recognised as endangered heritage, the site is undergoing vital stabilisation. There has been preservation to protect the hall’s dome and mosaics. #Buzludzha #Bulgaria #Photography #Brutalist #Abandoned #History
