I always like being in these kind of tunnels formed by foliage. This is the path back to the tram stop along the side of Top O Thi' Knowl in Shaw, Oldham. This path is on the 1890 map. #FootpathFriday

...and because sometimes a video is worth a 1000 images, here's a short clip from the earlier mountain pass nearby, giving more of an impression of the mood of this place! #FootpathFriday #NaturePhotography #BloomScrolling #Alps #Mountains #Video

Picture is from weekend before last but apparently winter isn't over yet since the Cascades got fresh snow this week. Going to go check it out tomorrow. Happy Friday! #pnw #footpathfriday

It looks like this could be the remains of a track in edgelands between the North Manchester hospital and a lorry park. In 1890 it was ground between Manchester Workhouse and the hospital and it is always possible it was a well used desire path back then. #FootpathFriday

On the 1890 map this cobbled road in Smedley Vale in the Irk Valley leads to a bridge over the Irk. Will look for remains of it next time, but not carry on this way as to get back on the path behind the view here I had to climb a very steep bank strewn with fly-tipped rubbish . #FootpathFriday #RiverIrk #SmedleyVale #Manchester

Lime Kiln Lane looks most like a lane where it leaves Pin Mill Brow and is wide and cobbled. It once had lime klins on it, thus the name. #FootpathFriday #Cobbles

Subway under the tram lines linking Dalton and Bromley Street in Collyhurst, East Manchester. In lockdown there was a gallery of photos featuring people playing jazz in here. A subway is a kind of footpath! #Footpathfriday #Subway #Collythurst #Manchester
