#ExtremeHeat is cutting the time people can safely be active #outdoors Using #globalheat, #humidity and demographic data, scientists found that sweltry conditions now limit light physical activity for #adults ages 18 to 40 for about 50 hours a year, on average. That’s double what young adults faced from 1950 to 1979. Two years ago Gareth Williams offered to share his caving footage with us. We said yes without quite knowing what would follow.

What followed: hundreds of thousands of people watching caves they’d never heard of, beneath hills they’d never visited. Our Facebook growing past 10,000 followers. And Meta, quietly, starting to pay.

Meta paid £100. We’ve matched it. £200 shared equally: £100 shop credit to Kendal Caving Club, £100 to Crewe Climbing & Pothole Club.

Gareth, you’ve helped us show the world the Yorkshire Dales from the inside. Thank you.
