👩‍💻 My So Called Sudo Life: Jailbroken Kindle edition 📖 If you followed my #Jailbreaking adventures this past week, I'd like to add a final chapter on the positive effect it had on my reading habits. Long story short: I used to be an avid reader and I had sadly lost the habit of reading books in the last couple of years (blaming tiredness at the end of the day). I had been looking for a system to encourage me to get back on track. When I found out about #KOreader and #SimpleUI I was totally smitten: an elegant interface that kept track of my reading stats? Sign me up! In the photo I've attached you can see my reading stats for the past week - aka since I started using KOreader and SimpleUI. If you don't want to squint / find it harder to read: my daily reading average is about 40 minutes. Not bad! I'm just absolutely delighted by this. #KindleJailbreak #reading #books #habits #MySoCalledSudoLife

While reading Murakami’s “The City and its Uncertain Walls” I came across a weird symbol near the spine on page 38. Part of me knows it’s a print artifact, but another hopes it’s more: a mystery; a gateway; a sign. Yeah, that’s how deeply I read. #Writing #WritingCommunity #Reading

It may sound weird but I think Tom King’s ‘Rorschach’ run might work because it has so little to do with ‘Watchmen’. At its heart it’s a 70s style political thriller; the nameless protagonist investigates an attempted political candidate on behalf of the campaign that doesn’t trusts the FBI learning about the would be assassins lives and fringe beliefs. It’s just that those beliefs center around space squids and they chose to wear a Rorschach mask when doing the deed that narratively links it to ‘Watchmen’ and those would be easy details to swap out Thematically it feels a lot like ‘Watchmen’, a cynical exploration of politics and the meaning of super-heroics. It feels like King gets it more than most people who quote Ozymandias. #Reading #Comics

An gabh thusa, River, Phoenix mar do chèile pòsta — an geall thu do ghràdh, do dhìlseachd, agus d' onair, fhad 's a bhios anail annad? https://thistleandmoss.com/p/what-we-practice-for #trans #queer #lgbtqia #fiction #reading #writing #author

You must be Sarah. Phoenix mentioned you. Said you're the philosopher of the group, she said. Phoenix is generous with titles, Sarah said with a smirk. https://thistleandmoss.com/p/what-we-practice-for #trans #queer #lgbtqia #fiction #reading #writing #author

Leila claimed the end of a middle row, phone face-down for once — a concession so radical it constituted its own form of ceremony. https://thistleandmoss.com/p/what-we-practice-for #trans #queer #lgbtqia #fiction #reading #writing #author

I've discovered (late) Rory Clement's WWII period books, lots with surprising twists. I am reading 'The English Führer' at present, all starring Tom Wilde, an unlikely hero as a Professor of History and Secret Service operative. I think I will probably read the whole series. If you like this period of history and it's parallels today, it might be for you. #Reading #Books #Novels #AmReading

Finished Happy Place by Emily Henry. I loved it - a really good romance book that explores relationships between lovers, friends, and family. I wasn't expecting it to go quite as deep as it did, but I enjoyed it. #book #books #booksky #bookstodon #bookLovers #reading #readingcommunity

Another book completed on my #XTEINKX4! This was "To Be Taught, If Fortunate" by Becky Chambers, a fantastic #ScienceFiction novella about a group of astronauts and their journey exploring alien life on far away planets! I was pleasantly surprised by it, I want to read more works by this author in the future. #Books2026 #Reading #XTEINK #Books #Bookstodon
