#fediajuda #fedihelp Quem usa notebook Dell, como faz pra desativar o acionamento da câmera pela Dell? Tem acontecido bastante. Não sei se é preciso desinstalar o Dell Suport Assist (o atendimento deles já me salvou duas vezes) ou se consigo configurar para impedir o acesso à câmera.

Pamiętacie Krokusa, naszego bohatera z autostrady? Niestety dalej zmagamy się z kłopotami ze zdrowiem. Na ostatniej wizycie wyszła drożdżyca wola, dlatego ptaszek ma problemy z jedzeniem. Czekamy jeszcze na wyniki kału i krwi z laboratorium. Za ostatnią wizytę zapłaciliśmy 400 zł. DIY or just smarter than I fedi, I need help on two things. (UK based if makes a difference) 1) Need to replace the old night latch, its a cheap feeling case thing, I swapped the lock easily but hate the case. Unfortunately living in a block of flats I can't drill any more holes in my door. Am I correct in thinking the mounting plates for night latches are more or less standardised? If I buy a new latch I can use the old door mount/replace it without needing new holes 2) my flat has what I'm told are "lamp sockets". To me they look like BS 546 from a theatre but smaller (so sub 15A). As far as I am aware these are really old standards, but my building is about 2006, my question is: are these OK to use? Can my IKEA G plug lamps and such use this if I can find some adapter or some easy way to tell? Or am I stuck with annoying two switch light switches that only have one usable switch and useless sockets? #DIY #askfedi #fedihelp #electricity #lockstodon

I just had a really cursed thought. When you post a link on the #Fediverse , it is usually shared with hundreds of instances and shows up in their global timelines. Doesn't this mean that the Fediverse could be easily abused as an #SEO farm? I.e. increasing the search rank of websites by making them "more linked"? Is this perhaps already happening? Fediverse Admins, have you seen activity like this? #FediHelp

Hey Fedi, bit of printer advice please.... I'm looking for replacement label printers - we used to use Dymo 450 but they were EOL'd a while back and the new software's a bin-fire. Any subsequent Dymos have DRM'd consumables so we can't use non-Dymo labels, cos Dymo are bastards. Ideally we want something with a wired LAN interface, or that I can hook into CUPS on a Pi to network-print given a PDF. Must be able to take 1" and 1.5" label rolls. Wiecie jak wygląda ofiara hodowcy gołębi? Właśnie tak ⬇️ Poznajcie Krokusa. Wczoraj jadąc autostradą A1, na wysokości Gliwic, zauważyliśmy na pasie awaryjnym gołębia. Zjechaliśmy pierwszym możliwym zjazdem i wróciliśmy w tamto miejscem. Był żywy, ale prawie wcale się nie ruszał. Z oka sączyła się krew. Zauważyliśmy metalową obrączkę z informacjami o ptaku, nie było jednak drugiej, z danymi hodowcy. W domu z przerażeniem odkryliśmy, że ptak ma związane pióra w lewym skrzydle taśmą izolacyjną by uniemożliwić mu latanie. Nie ma innej opcji jak mógłby się dostać między 6 pasów ruchu a barierę dźwiękoszczelną jak tylko wyrzucenie z auta. Wskakują też na to obrażenia. Oprócz uszkodzenia oka ma też otwarte złamanie łapki (bym może to "wypadek" przy okazji ściągania obrączki ze swoimi danymi). Pierwszy raz spotykam się z tak wymyślnym sposobem pozbycia się ptaka (choć wiem od innych wolontariuszy, że mieli już takie przypadki). Nie dziwią mnie już teksty o ukręceniu głowy kiedy ktoś dzwoni do hodowcy, że znalazł jego ptaka. Jednak to? Serio porzucić ptaka pod kołami setek aut by konał w męczarniach? Krokus jest w stanie ciężkim. Podajemy kroplówki i środki przeciwbólowe, ale nie wiemy czy nie ma też obrażeń wewnętrznych. Póki co walczymy. Jeśli chcecie nam pomóc to założyliśmy zrzutkę na Krokusa. Potrzebujemy dla niego leków, specjalnej karmy Nutri Bird, podkładów i przede wszystkim na dalsze badania i wizyty w lecznicy. Zgodnie z tym co wspominaliśmy w introduction przedstawiamy kawalerów. Nestor oraz Manul vel Pampuszek. Przyjechały do nas z Ukrainy, ze schroniska do którego zbliża się front i wszystkie zwierzeta są w śmiertelnym niebezpieczeństwie. A są ich setki 😔 Prosiłam o koty najbiedniejsze i nieadopcyjne, a dostałam ich 😅 Ale nie jest tak różowo. Nestor mial być dziadkiem, ale zdania co do jego wieku są podzielone. Jest po wypadku lub postrzale, ma lekki niedowład tylnych łapek. Ale z każdym dniem chodzi coraz lepiej, ostatnio został przyłapany na szafce. Chłopak kocha ludzi, ale ma też zdecydowany charakter I potrafi głośno wyrażać swoje potrzeby 😆 Za to Pamuszek, wyglądający jak manul, jest poczciwą słodką kluską. Pozwala na wszystkie zabiegi, wywraca się do góry brzuszkiem żeby go głaskać, a całe dnie spędza śpiąc na poduszce. Ma pewną nadwagę, nie ma co ukrywać 😅 I niestety ma Fiv, o czym wiedzieliśmy już wcześniej, więc jego odporność może być obniżona. Póki co chłopcy mieli tylko badania krwi i testy na fiv/felv oraz dostali odrobaczenie. Są już wykastrowani. Marzy nam się porządna diagnostyka dla nich, wizyta u ortopedy dla Nestora i u okulisty dla Manula, bo ma lekkie uszkodzenie rogówki. Jednak przez problemy zdrowotne Pana Kota pieniądze z 1,5% i benefitu dawno zniknęły 😔 rachunek w jednej z lecznic już wynosi koło 800 zł. I exported ALL my emails from my Gmail account. It's over 2 GB of stuff, i've had the account for probably 20 years? This move is one step towards closing it, at some point. I will delete all the exported emails now. Anyway. The archive was delivered in a .mbox file and I'm wondering if the fediverse knows of a tool, software or anything (preferably run locally) to browse my archive on my laptop (it' got Mint).
