Come riporta l’Ingv, Istituto nazionale di geofisica e vulcanologia, la prima scossa è stata registrata alle 6:18 di mattina (5:18 in Italia) vicino alla città costiera di Lerapetra. Al momento non si segnalano vittime o danni. Il sisma si è verificato a una profondità di 15 chilometri, motivo per cui, essendo relativamente superficiale, è stato avvertito con maggiore intensità. Successivamente sono state registrate scosse di minore entità. Solo un mese fa, a marzo, un altro terremoto di magnitudo 5.3 aveva colpito la Grecia nord-occidentale senza causare danni significativi. Secondo uno studio pubblicato a novembre sulla rivista Scientific Data, nel Paese sono state registrate più di 2.000 tracce di faglie sismiche attive. L’arcipelago, meta turistica molto popolare, è stato colpito da numerose scosse sismiche nel 2025, tra cui un terremoto di magnitudo 5.3 nel giugno dello scorso anno, che ha danneggiato i monasteri sul Monte Athos. Not to complain, but I did reach two conclusions since being in #Greece;

  1. We really need to ban cigarettes. EU wide. Everyone smokes here, incl little kids. And especially during dinner?? Cigarettes are tossed in nature, on the streets etc. It’s so gross.

  2. I can’t wait for all vehicles to be electric. I’m on this idyllic island, and granted I’m overlooking a busy part of the harbor, but holy shit how nice would this place be without the noise pollution. Reminds me of Amsterdam.

Ne scrive in esclusiva il Jerusalem Post ricordando il primo attentato a una sinagoga di Liegi, in Belgio, lunedì. Seguito da un attacco in Grecia mercoledì e a un incendio doloso a una sinagoga di Rotterdam, nei Paesi Bassi, venerdì. Il riferimento alla ''destra'', nel nome, non ha un significato politico, ma piuttosto di "retto" o "giusto" come ha spiegato Ohad Merlin, ricercatore presso il programma regionale di Mind Israel, al Jerusalem Post. Il Corano, ha precisato, usa infatti spesso 'destra' e 'sinistra' come metafore. Il gruppo, di cui prima di questa settimana non si conosceva l'esistenza, non possiede un proprio canale su Telegram, né è presente sui social media. Ma i video degli attacchi condotti da Ashab Al Yamim sono apparsi rapidamente sui canali Telegram dell'asse sciita, come quelli associati a Hezbollah o ai Pasdaran, il che suggerire un collegamento con organizzazioni affiliate all'Iran. Il logo del gruppo raffigura un braccio teso verso l'alto che impugna un fucile, puntato verso destra, con dietro l'immagine di un mappamondo. Questo logo ha le stesse caratteristiche dei loghi dei gruppi terroristici iraniani o guidati dall'Iran.
