I started building @pixelfed@mastodon.social in April 2018, just weeks after the ActivityPub spec was published. I delayed federation support in light of some fediverse meta that happened in the summer of 2018, and someone even made a doespixelfedfederateyet website that said "No." until Dec 2018. People joked about Pixelfed a lot, then the vibe changed when I shipped ephemeral Stories using LitePub + Bearcaps in 2019. 8 years later, we're still here and thriving! #Pixelfed #Pixelfed8YearAnniversary

I joined #Fediverse after 2025 inauguration. So far I see the future is bright here at Fediverse The clean energy kind of bright Never going to be as bright as tech-bro-business kind of bright like #Facebook, #Instagram, #Twitter (never going to call anything else), or #Bluesky, but that is okay with me I choose clean and friendly energy kind of bright over fossil fuel polluted kind of bright. And that is how I explain to people why I only have #Mastodon and #Pixelfed accounts when they asked For now, have a good night!

A well-known spot nearby. I photographed this tree already many times, but never like this. The sun was warm and the atmosphere was extremely cold. At least, so I heard during the weather forecast. and I am really impatient to see some updates to #pixelfed -we need the possibility to follow more hashtags, to block certain #hashtags etc. - i blocked hundreds of accounts manually and still my feed contains far too many posts that are of no interest to me. It was a good decision to leave Instagram, but 99.9% of art institutions, important artists and my professional network are still not part of the #fediverse and I can’t even really recommend it like this. what is your user experience? how to develop ?@?@dansup@pixelfed.social

Since there is no revoking sessions in Pixelfed, and changing password doesn't log you out of any sessions, be careful with your Pixelfed credentials. If you use Pixelfed and your account gets hacked, you can't do anything. Perhaps contacting Dansup is the only option. #pixelfed #fediverse #foss #tech

Hello,

Currently experiencing the same issue.

  • API calls that used to work now return error: unauthenticated
  • Token creation from the webapp return Whoops! Something went wrong!

How was this resolved for you last time ? Thx

Well that's why I tried to go to my profile > settings > application where I did not find any previous token nor was I able to create a new one.... I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but cannot find what. (Error messages are not very informative neither from the API nor the UI. And documentation is still incomplete) #pixelfed #api #webdev
