Instance admin. Not a professional sysadmin like some here; fuck me, I'm not even a *good* sysadmin. But if I'm going to have a tinpot dictator with nonsensical rules in charge, I figure it outta be one I can at least agree with. I post rarely, but I'm trying to up the frequency. Typical topics are transit, tech, and whichever show or book I'm partway through. Posts are likely to be profanity-laden - not out of hate, I'm just pretty darn evangelical about some of my favourite projects.

We all had a good laugh with the work-friend that was pressed into service to unwillingly lead the #Vancouver #SunRun team,
And I have every intention of doing so again next year - in fact more people are already saying they'll sign up if he's pushed to lead again

I spent a lot of time on a recent train trip from #Vancouver to #Toronto on railway sidings, waiting for a slow-moving freight train to pass.
In the US, Amtrak trains have legal precedence over freight trains.
That's not the case in #Canada, where VIA Rail plays second fiddle to Class One freights like CPKC.
Does it have to be this way? I take a look in the latest HIGH SPEED dispatch:
