Three good things for today: 4/8/2026

  1. Chilling on the patio after yard work.
  2. The buzz from the bees 🐝 swarming the flowers in the maple trees and redbud trees.
  3. Yard stuff: lawn mowed, water for the sprinklers turned on, herbicide sprayed, sticks picked up, etc.

Today’s exercise: About 2 hrs of yard work.

#3GoodTings #ThreeGoodThings 1) fixed my 6 year old mobile phone so that I can continue using it for few more years. 2) had an awesome weekend with old (and made new) friends, by the beach and got sun burned :D 3) spending quality time with my mom

Three good things on a Saturday: -- we've been purging our bookshelves this week. If you've seen them, you know what an undertaking that is. So far we have four boxes to recycle and at least seven more to donate somewhere, with more to add. Partner would rather wallow in poison ivy than cull books, so this is a Very Big Deal; -- During the Polar Vortex when nighttime temps were at their most frigid, the power went out in the greenhouse and some of our prettiest flowers took a severe hit. We thought they were done, but there are new signs of life in all of them. 🙏 -- another snowstorm coming our way. We've already made more bread and brought in more firewood. 3 good things for today:

  • felt tired and weighed down today, and almost didn’t go to self-defense class. But my partner pushed me to go and I’m so glad I did. It was fantastic, mentally and physically.

  • my new contact lens rx includes correction for astigmatism, and HOLY COW is this how everyone else sees the world at night??!?!! Mind blown.

3 good things for today:

  • had a great time at my tap dance class this morning.

  • watched Fall Guy with my partner. It was entertaining and funny, two thumbs up.

  • driving through town last night, I saw quite a few houses adorned with blue lights (porch lights, fence lights, twinkle lights, etc.). I don’t know for sure, but I’d like to think the lights are in support of #Minnesota. 💙

#3GoodThings #ThreeGoodThings from yesterday: Made it to my bluegrass jam, even though I didn't have use of a car; Supportive folks who let me recover after a fumble with my first-ever attempt to lead a song at a jam. ("'She'll be coming round the mountain' oh wait not supposed to sing and solo at the same time...") Happy double-takes received when I started having fun with the lyrics in real- time the way I want to be able to with the tune. ("She'll be walking through the snow pack / Wishing she had brought a six-pack / She'll be walking through the snow pack when she comes! ") And PSA: please keep your sidewalks shoveled, if you can. You never know when someone new to the neighborhood will be trudging from the train station with a mandolin case on her back. #mandolin #WinterCommuting

  • Someone I love is getting the help and care they need to get better
  • My second order of LEGOS from AliExpress arrived and I can finally finish my project
  • #StarTrek #StarfleetAcademy has defied my preconceptions, I’m really enjoying it and the fact the bros hate it makes it even better.
