Really stupid computer question. Does the IP address of my #NAS ever change? It feels like it shouldn't. And yet after weeks of it all being fine, #Jellyfin seemed to have the wrong address. I'm asking for a moron, not myself obviously. #AskFedi

Hat jemand Erfahrungen mit den #nas von #ugreen? Ich möchte bzgl. des #diday meine #icloud nun endlich durch ein NAS ersetzen. Vor allem Interessieren mich die Foto-Lösungen. Schön wäre, wenn es #Fotos, #dateien, #musik und 4K-#Filme händeln könnte. Ich glaube das DXP-2800 mit 2x 6TB würde erstmal reichen. Derzeit liegen 2TB in der iCloud. Wie sind eure Erfahrungen?

The broken casting on the #Synolgy #NAS is tedious. Mainly because it appears like I'm going to have to deal with things I have no understanding of like docker and containers to install something that works.

Ich bin wahrscheinlich richtig spaet dran damit... aber seit ein paar Wochen nutze ich #Paperless NGX auf meinem #NAS und das hat die Art und Weise, wie ich Dokumente verwalte, komplett veraendert. Keine irre Ordnerstruktur mehr, ellenlange Filenames oder Tags. Einfach die Docs da rein und dank OCR rappelt die Volltextsuche in ms-Schnelle durch. #selfhosting #NAS #diy does anyone know a website that has a good filter for searching PC/NAS cases? the filter params should allow filtering for harddrive sizes and also understand combining them. example: sometimes there is enough space for, lets say, 2x 2.5 and 2x 3.5 but when combining them the 3.5 would take space of one of the 2.5 😅 I need 2x 2.5 and min 2x 3.5 At the same time I want the physical size of the case not to exceed 230mm 🤓

Projekti: Google Kuvista siirtyminen omaan ylläpitoon. Googlen Takeout zipeissä on pirullisesti kuvista riisuttu metadata ja se on säilötty erilliseen JSON-formaatin tiedostoon Kaikenlaisia skriptinkilkuttimia tuli Githubista kokeiltua, joilla saisi Google Takeout -kuvapaketit prosessoitua takaisin kuntoon siten, että olisi Exif-data taas itse kuvissa. En saanut niistä mitään toimimaan. Osa oli jo muutaman vuoden vanhoja, joten ei niillä kai sitten ollut mitään ylläpito enää. Onhan toki tuo mainio Exiftools olemassa, mutta en enää jaksa ährätä, vaan haluan nopeammin maaliin. Siirryin hieman pettyneenä Linuxista Windowsin pariin ja päätin kokeilla josko sieltä löytyisi jokin helppo ratkaisu. Löytyi. Windows Storessa onkin muuten toimiva maksuton ohjelma, joka osaa homman, TakeoutFixer. Paitsi harmillisesti paikkatiedon suhteen se on kyvytön. Päivämäärät ja kameran Exif näyttää toimivan. Sitten on kertamaksullinen ohjelma, josta on kokeiluversio. Google Photos Metadata Fixer Se toimi kokeilussa ei moitteetta myös paikkatiedon suhteen. Aion hankkia siitä sen maksullisen version, jotta saan projektin vietyä loppuun. Alkuvaiheessa vien kuvat Nextcloudin, jatkossa omaan NAS-säilöön. #GoogleKuvat #Nextcloud #NAS
