The allotment in the sunshine. It is looking greener and greener now but there is still no rain. Just more sunshine every day. I am glad now that we had a wet winter and there is still enough moisture in the ground for anything more deeper rooted. But I do have to water my newly planted trees and perennials to help them get established before summer arrives. #allotment #garden

That should be happy asparagus - plenty of groworganic manure, some chicken manure pellets on top, and a nice blanket of mulch. I sowed all the cucurbits too, and the sweetcorn. #allotment

Yesterday I did get to the Petanque club and had a couple of good games. There were three new players there - not new to the game, but new to our club. New blood is definitely needed. It was cool but not unpleasant. I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening in a bit of a downward spiral for no good reason, and struggled to pull myself out of it. But, at bedtime I fell asleep almost immediately, so perhaps it was tiredness. We're hoping to get to our #allotment today, and I'll finally remember to take the early potatoes to put in. The forecast is for a day of sunshine & showers so we might be dodging raindrops in a stiff breeze! Make the most of your Sunday whatever you're doing or dodging! #Today

Yes we were dodging showers at our #allotment ! We sat out two downpours out in our shelter, but on the third decided to come home. We had lunch and a cuppa in the shed, but it's not a joy being wet through. In between the showers: I got some seeds sown, Sacha got the dahlias and lupins in, and did some weeding. We came home with some glorious tulips (I'll try and get a photo later). #leicestershire #weather

A cold windy day up at the main #allotment but we still got a lot of preparation done, and weeded the whole Fruit Zone. After 4 hours in a biting wind, we returned home to a cup of hot Bovril. #GYO #GrowYourOwn

Meanwhile, up at the 'big' #allotment, crocus are flowering,, while the daffodils and tulips are in the green. And I've created a pond, since this photo was taken I've added an escape route for anyone falling in. Plants will be added next week, when I hope to get it finished. #Allotment #Wildlife #Pond
