@Frieda_M@mastodon.social We can see the asparagus bed is well cared for. It’s inspiring. #asparagus, #compost.

@Broadfork@mastodon.green What lovely compost. It’s an adventure with zen exercises, soil biology smells, and trugs to take to the gardens at home. Mmm. #compost

Saturday April 18th. Garden journal notes. The perennial nettle plant is wonderful. This harvest aspired to be steamed with sambal kelapa spiced carrots. This is an early green for southern Minnesota. Also the plant spreads aggressively by shallow runners and deep runners. Also the common name is stinging nettles. #nettles, #growyourown, #nodig, #compost, #minnesota, #Zone4b, #gardening

@karakteristika@mementomori.social It’s a good question about soil blocks. The ingredients and moisture can be varied to get more robust soil blocks. #SoilBlock, #gardening, #allotment, #compost

@Broadfork@mastodon.green And the nodig and compost top dressing methods are sustainable gardening methods! Our compost still has a frozen core. #nodig, #compost.
