🌃🚆🛫 Great Western Railway (GWR) will trial overnight services to #Gatwick #Airport from 6 June, running for 12 weeks to test demand for early-morning and late-night connections between the Thames Valley and the airport. The trial includes two Reading–Gatwick trains on Saturday mornings, plus three return services, and one Reading–Gatwick and two return #trains on Mondays. Stops include Reading, Wokingham, Guildford, Dorking Deepdene, Reigate, Redhill and Gatwick. 🚄🔧 Passengers are warned of rail disruptions south of Peterborough on Sunday 15 March due to further testing of a new digital signalling system. Thameslink and Great Northern services will not run on key sections, with replacement #buses operating between Hitchin, Bedford, Peterborough, St Neots, Stevenage, Hertford North, Potters Bar and #Luton #Airport Parkway. Long-distance trains from northern #England will start or terminate at #Peterborough, with coaches connecting to Bedford and #London. The £1.4bn East Coast Digital Programme is introducing in-cab digital signalling between Welwyn and Hitchin later this year, aiming for safer, greener, and more reliable journeys.
