Made a second hop tonight from Greenland's southern tip over to Gander Int'l in Newfoundland in my #Xplane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet, coming back to the west coast from the EU. Five airliners (2 747s and three twin-engine wide bodies, maybe 777s?) had to line up and wait for me to lollygag in at 90 kts on final. I think one was honking his horn. RON tonight here. Still working my way west from the EU to the Left Coast via Iceland, Greenland, Nova Scotia in my #Xplane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet. Just landed at Narsarsauq, Greenland, at the far southern tip. First thing I did was put on my "Trump is an idiot" hat so the line guys would sell me fuel. They saw the U.S. registry "N" number and quickly ran the other way. Gee, I wonder why? #avgeeks #aviation #flying

Dropped off my #XPlane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet at Napoli Airport last week, and rented a #Cessna 172 Skyhawk for a VFR tour of Sicily. Hit every airport on the island, and just returned to Napoli. I parked exactly where ground told me, I think, it was broken Italian English. Came back for my jet and found a small problem, not sure but I think it will buff out. Headed back to the states soon. Can I land in Greenland? Sitting on the virtual ramp in Inverness, Scotland watching the sun come up after flying from Iceland to complete a North Atlantic crossing in my #Xplane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet. Going to bop around the EU for a while, but first I need to top off with Jet-A. Good price today on their virtual fuel here, $0.00/L which translates to USD$0.00/L. Haven't had my #XPlane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision jet up in a while. It was in for maintenance (in-op thingamabob). Flew into Pangborn Memorial in Wenatchee, WA (KEAT) and after seeing the identifier, somehow I am hungry for dessert. Surely I can find some decent fresh Apple Pie around here. RNAV approach was fun, a tricky five-turn affair thru a small valley of the Columbia River. Parked next to another SF50 and yes, I do have wingtip envy. #avgeeks #aviation #flying #apples #pie

Decided to skip the chaos tonight and fly my #XPlane #flightsim #Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet from Lost Wages (KLAS) up to Jackson Hole. It's a virtual charter flight operating as "Dandy 1020" hauling some rich skiers into there for some winter fun. RON tonight in town, and will not be having the Bison Burritos. Just got back from my #EAA #Experimental #Aviation chapter meeting. Presenter was Mike Babcock, who built a full-competition Badlands Traveler and traveled the USA last season competing. Runs a full-race Yamaha snowmobile (snow machine?) three-cylinder engine with massive turbocharger. Gets off the ground in about 30' and lands at 50' "if he does it right." Went thru 3 engines last season, T/O power is 9800 RPM. He did not disclose T/O horsepower. Typical racer. #avgeeks #STOL

Just checked all the #aviation acronym associations for news on what their take on the threat by Big Orange to "decertify" some, all, none (???) of aircraft made in Canada. Nothing from any of them yet. I especially wanted to see what #NBAA was thinking, but nada. I am sure because as per usual, this falls somewhere between delirious ramblings of a dementia patient and strong-man edicts from a power-crazed autocrat. Not sure how the billionaires who want to buy Bombardier bizjets will cope now that the Mad King has stuck his spray-tanned nose into cross-border OEM issues. "Trump Threatens To ‘Decertify’ Canadian Aircraft and Impose Tariffs On Them" What's not clear is how the decertification would extend to existing aircraft on the U.S. registry.
