@bloomberg@flipboard.com @profiles-bloomberg calling #Phishing of #TechIlliterates a "#Cyberattack" is disingenous and factually wrong. If I were to convince someone to hand me their credit card & PIN, that would not be a "Hack" of the card issuers' systems either!

@tagesschau@ard.social Man muss auch mal den Mut aufbringen Dinge zu benennen: Die Ministerin ist Digital inkompetent und auf #Phishing hereingefallen. Die #tagesschau benennt Dinge allerdings nicht mehr sondern hechelt dem Duktus der #niewiederCDU und #lolSpd hinterher. Trauriger journalistischer Niedergang.

My cache all email got some spam/phishing email with the link url being a github.io url. I am wondering if something scraped my Mastodon instance and misidentified the account, which doesn't have an email account created, as an email address. Beware of Scammers Claiming to be Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles texting you saying you owe a ticket and to pay or lose your license immediately. #Phishing #Infosec #Scam The #Scam was really bad in the summer of 2025. The #Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has received reports of a possible texting scam being perpetrated on Ohioans today from scammers claiming to be from the State of Ohio. Residents have reported receiving text messages from scammers informing the recipients that they have an outstanding parking ticket. The text then instructs the recipient to pay immediately to avoid a license suspension. This particular scam is a phishing attempt that is being reported by drivers nationwide and is designed to trick residents into giving up personal or financial information. “If you receive this text, do not fall for this scam,” said Ohio BMV Registrar Charlie Norman. “Do not click any links, do not scan the QR code, and immediately delete the text. Ohio BMV will never send you a text demanding payment or requesting your personal information.”

Przypadek jest jednak o tyle ciekawy, że twórca rozszerzenia wcale nie jest atakującym. TLDR: W 2022 roku w Microsoft Office Add-in Store pojawiło się narzędzie do planowania spotkań – AgreeTo. Ich bekomme gerade ungewöhnlich gute phishing mails die so tun als würden sie von Hetzner stammen. Sie sind per KI individualisiert, es stimmen alle Daten (Anrede, Domainname, Kontaktadresse, usw.) und behaupten, dass meine Domain-Registrierung abgelaufen wäre und bieten an dies kostenlos zu verlängern. Sogar das Ablaufdatum stimmt fast... Einzig die Absenderadresse und die Linkziele sind verdächtig. Also aufpassen! #phishing #hetzner

A slick new phishing-as-a-service offering demonstrates just how easily a username+password and a one-time token can be phished. Observation: Google is currently the biggest spreader of phishing mails, Cloudflare hides/hosts the phishing sites these mails link to. That's the simple truth on my mailserver since a few weeks. And yes, I manually report every single one of them to no visible avail. #SelfHost #MailAdmin #Phishing @homelab@fedigroups.social
