And AGAIN, The Greens proving they're the _ONLY_ party to have common sense.. So while penny wong is feigning "concern" (and doing NOTHING) and Albo is just outright ignoring it all (again, doing NOTHING), The Greens are actually trying to make life better for everyone. "The Greens want the federal government to put direct pressure on Israel to stop its deadly strikes on Lebanon, including cancelling weapons contracts to protest against the “disastrous, illegal, immoral war”." https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/apr/10/australia-pressure-israel-war-lebanon-greens #Greens #CommonSense #AntiFascism #News #AUSPol #Activism #HumanRights #BoycottIsrael

Here's a long interview with Hannah Spencer (the new Green Party of England & Wales MP), which among other things confirms the caustic role of the media in this country in trying to smear & discredit progressive politicians; if you have the time this morning its worth reading, not least of all as it marks a welcome contrast to the sorts of interviews of career politicians that usually grace the media. #Greens #politics #HannahSpencer https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2026/mar/30/wow-people-were-so-angry-at-labour-green-mp-hannah-spencer-on-politics-plumbing-smears-and-snobbery

Germany, Ozdemir triumphs in Baden-Württemberg: a strong economy is needed. Stuttgart, March 9 (askanews) – From being the son of Turkish “guest workers” (Gastarbeiter) to triumph as Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg. In Germany, Cem Ozdemir, a 61-year-old leading candidate for the Greens and symbol of Turkish integration, will inherit the seat from Winfried Kretschmann: after 15 years and at 77 years old, the latter retired, while the Greens have won a historic victory in the regional elections in the Land. Born December 21, 1965, in Bad Urach (Reutlingen district) in Swabia, Ozdemir grew up as a single child. His parents arrived in Germany as “Gastarbeiter” at the beginning of the 1960s, where they met and fell in love. After completing secondary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a childcare assistant in Reutlingen in 1987; initially oriented towards the world of work, he then opted for the admission title to university at a vocational school in N rtingen, followed by an academic path and experience as a freelance journalist. The “Gastarbeiter” were immigrants – primarily Italians, Spaniards, Yugoslavs, Greeks, and Turks – recruited by West Germany between 1955 and 1973 to address the labor shortage during the economic boom. #Germany #Ozdemir #Baden-Württemberg #Stuttgart #Turkish #Gastarbeiter #CemOzdemir #Greens #WinfriedKretschmann #Swabia #Reutlingen #Italians #Spaniards #Yugoslavs #Turks #WestGermany https://www.iltempo.it/tv-news/2026/03/09/video/germania-ozdemir-trionfa-nel-baden-wurttemberg-serve-economia-forte-46722646/

RE: https://mastodon.scot/@nr/115615446138812458 3 months on & the Green Party has grown to 216k members. Not due to corporate funding, polluters or pandering to the racist press, but folk determined to put Hope back on the ballot box. They’re on track to become the largest party in the U.K. by membership. Their peak before Zack Polanski was 63k members in 2015. The magnitude of the growth is groundbreaking. #greens #ukpol #scotpol #politics #uk #elections

Zack Polanski on the Green wave: 'For a long time, voters have enthusiastically backed the Green party’s policies – but have often stopped short of supporting us at the ballot box, afraid to “waste” their vote. We saw that change in Gorton and Denton – and that result unlocked a new level of confidence for potential Green voters that they can truly vote for what they want and get it'! Polanski is banking on momentum in the local elections - I hope he's right! #Greens https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/mar/07/predict-green-party-wave-zack-polanski-local-elections-byelection-win

@ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us I imagine the prostitute press will try to “do a Corbyn” on Zack & Greens! On #Corbyn, they tried various tacks (eg terrible taste in attire; the Cenotaph episode; his allotment; Russian agent etc) until, finally, the #ZionistLobby/ #CIA/ #MI5/ corporate media et al “antisemitism” slur which stuck & which, on advice from his Israel-aligned advisors (Carrie #Murphy, James #Schneider), Corbyn quickly capitulated to instead of fighting back against! I hope Zack has some good PR advisors to help him survive the coming storm! #UK #Greens #Polanski #MSM #Polanski

#Greens’ Shoebridge on #Iran strikes: ‘#Labor knows it’s illegal’ Greens senator #DavidShoebridge has accused Labor, the #Coalition and #OneNation of being the “three war parties”, and criticised the government for “rushing” to back the strikes on Iran. Speaking on his amendment to the Coalition’s motion, Shoebridge doesn’t hold back, saying the three parties have “never seen an attack by #DonaldTrump, an attack by #BenjaminNetanyahu, that they haven’t wanted to back in and support”. “We have seen the #Albanese Labor government rush to be the first country in the world to back in Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu’s latest #illegalwar, literally rushing to back in a war that Labor knows is in #grossbreach of #internationallaw. There’s a reason that the foreign minister has refused to discuss, even discuss, whether or not this war is illegal. It’s because Labor knows it’s illegal.” Shoebridge accuses the government and opposition of being “reckless” about the consequences of the #bombing on the Iranian people. “I can tell you that the mums who are pulling their kids out of the rubble, they don’t see freedom. They’re not talking about #regimechange. They’re grieving about the loss of their kids, their daughters. They see through your endless support of war … they see their country potentially being thrown into chaos.“ #auspol #TrumpRegime #RogueNation #uspol https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/live/2026/mar/02/politics-updates-federal-parliament-anthony-albanese-labor-angus-taylor-coalition-nsw-budget-estimates-iran-war-reactions-ntwnfb?CMP=share_btn_url&page=with%3Ablock-69a4d5508f0863f6a3eff706#block-69a4d5508f0863f6a3eff706

Got friends/family who live near Manchester or Stockport?

Remind them to vote! It’s TOMORROW (26th)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Gorton_and_Denton_by-election

The polls have the Greens and Reform neck-and-neck on ~30% of the vote (with Green coming out ahead in a the most recent poll*), but with ~30% still undecided.

TALK TO YOUR PEOPLE 🙏

This result is likely going to have major long-term implications for British politics - it will embolden either the Greens or Reform, and that momentum may well ultimately decide who wins the next election.

Boosts hugely appreciated

This time around conman 'Santos' Malinauskas is *promising* 'Land and Houses', just like he promised to "fix the ramping" last time around.. 🤣 Maybe if we all believe him "this time around" that "this time will be different", eh? 🙄 lol! 🤣😆🤣 A vote for Labor SA is a vote for more: Santos Algal Bloom, more conman Malinauskas wining & dining the saudi's, more Adelaide Parklands destroyed, more Hospital Ramping (which was his primary promise to 'solve' last time around & failed), more spruiking the failed outdated subs #AUKUS contract which plans to dump nuclear waste at Osborne, more protest & human-rights banning, more visiting genocidists wined & dined, more Israeli-Lobby Appeasement, and more spruiking Santos Contracts for Malinauskas's family-run toxic fossil fuel company Santos (with brother Rob on the board). Don't make the same mistake twice South Australians, vote GREENS for a REAL change for the better. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-02-22/labor-launches-sa-election-campaign-with-housing-policy/106373392 #Corruption #LaborFail #Adelaide #News #Greens #SouthAustralia #Election

Zac Polanski has written to Wes Streeting: 'I know that you have had a close relationship with Peter Mandelson & I will be seeking through every means at our disposal to establish whether there have been any personal, formal or informal contacts with Peter Mandelson or his lobbying company between yourself, other ministers and Department of Health or NHS England officials on behalf of Palantir'! The Green Party candidate for the Gorton & Denton by election is Hannah Spencer; lets hope she polls better than her 5th place in the 2024 Manchester Mayoral election. As a young female plumber & local resident, there's a lot to attract the Labour vote, but this by-election will be hard fought as it is seen by many as a litmus text both for ReformUK ltd.'s threat to the mainstream parties in the next General Election & Polanski's renewed Greens! #Greens #politics https://greenparty.org.uk/2026/01/30/greens-pick-local-plumber-to-win-gorton-denton/

The Gorton & Denton by-election will be in a month's time as Labour has moved on the writ for it quickly....possibly to try to shut-down debates about Andy Burham's (now blocked) candidacy. While, Reform seem to be the party Labour are focussing on, this may be the perfect chance for the Greens to capitalise on Zack Polanski's raised profile & recent pronouncements. By looking to the Right, Labour may find they are missing the real challenge? We will find out in 4 weeks! #Politics #greens
