Playing with a pattern inspired by turkey-tail mushrooms for today's #inkyDays drawing. It's hard to tell, but I actually used three different inks for the lines. They look so similar on this paper, though. Oh well. Here's an in-progress shot. Cyptotrama asprata, commonly known as the golden-scruffy collybia or spiny woodknight, is a species of mushroom found worldwide. Known for its fuzzy, almost alien appearance, when young, the cap is covered in dense, stiff tufts of fibrils that look like small, sharp spikes which wash off when it matures. It is found worldwide but absent in Europe and Northwestern North America. #weird #fungi #mushrooms #nature

Trametes versicolour, aka. Turkey Tail Fungus growing on a log near Pennington Flash, Leigh, Greater Manchester. Lots of this growing on logs in my garden too! #fungi

For #FungiFriday I wanted to post these bracket #fungi I encountered growing on a tree trunk in the forest at the Port Hudson State Historic Site in Jackson #Louisiana earlier this month. These appear to be Turkey-Tails or their relatives. #mushtodon
