SO IT’S #Autism Awareness Month?

since am one of those #ActuallyAutistic people Dx at the tender age of 50 (yes, 50. and yes am older now, shut up), am not acquainted with the american rituals of national days or awareness months involving autism.

welp, let me do this as a gentle reminder:

  1. BLACK
  2. INDIGENOUS
  3. PUERTO RICAN
  4. CARIBBEAN
  5. LATINOAMERICANES
  6. WOMEN

can be #autistic too.

and in my case: #dyslexic with a sprinkling of good ol’ extra spicy #ADHD.

but ironically, 🧵

People with #adhd have three types of workday:

  • Get absolutely nothing done
  • Get 4 hours of work done at a random point in time
  • Get 40 hours of work done in 4 hours

All types are sprinkled with work unrelated sidequests

Can anyone recommended a good method for dealing with executive disfunction? I think I tried everything. There are a few things I should have dealt with months ago, instead I have completed hundreds of unnecessary projects. #ADHD #AuDHD #AskFedi

@bernicecbc@newsie.social The combination of #ADHD and #decluttering is a particularly insightful pairing, as managing physical space is often a meaningful challenge and triumph within neurodiverse experiences.

Picked up a snack from the carcineria. #ADHD quest for novelty strikes again. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Fair comment on Elon Musk mischaracterising Autism and using it as an excuse to be a jerk. Using disability as a shield for bad behaviour is disgusting and disrespectful to people with disabilities. #ElonMusk #Autism #ADHD #AuDHD

A research supposedly confirming that ADHD and autism share specific brain connectivity patterns. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/04/260408225941.htm Interesting if the connectivity changes they see in MRT have anything to do with the one seen on EEG(as in my teens on my EEG there were some connectivity irregularities noticed) #autism #adhd #AuDHD #neurodivergent

Oh but hey #ADHD people, if you have ever wanted to get into gardening but worry (or know from previous experience) that you will forget to water and kill the poor dears: Get into SIP bins. You just top up the bottom reservoir once or twice a week (if it's really hot) and other than that you just do the fun things, pruning, tending, preening, snacking... This guy has videos with exremely practical and affordable methods for building them with a bin and some corrugated pipe and some bits and bobs. It's springtime in North America, go to the hardware store and grow you some peppers and tamaters of your very own, you deserve them! @Albopepper@www.youtube.com

👀 #PsychiatraPlus #podcast #podcasty #ADHDpoPolsku
