Astronauts aboard NASA’s Artemis II have now boldly gone where no human has gone before. At 1:57 p.m. ET, the crew surpassed the record for the farthest distance traveled from Earth by humans, which was set by the Apollo 13 mission in 1970. The crew is scheduled to start making observations of the Moon’s surface during the flyby, losing contact with Earth for about 40 minutes. For the Artemis II flight around the Moon, astronauts will need an extra comms call:
“I’d leave it for 10 minutes if I was you…”
Lady astronauts will be happy; the toilet suction starts the moment the toilet lid is lifted, meaning male astronauts will be encouraged to not leave the seat up after use.
