Two weeks into returning to #Linux on the desktop (specifically #Mint), and I'm really struggling with its handling of my laptop's 4K display combined with an external HD monitor.
Windows 11 just works, but no combination of scaling and font changes leaves me with a usable experience. Some apps work well while others either look huge or tiny.
That, plus Bluetooth audio glitches, plus GPU-related hangs, plus it never boots first time, is making me wonder if this is really worth doing.

Mal noch fix das Reserve Notebook mit nem ordentlichen Betriebssystem bespielen...
Da war so was komisches mit so drehenden Sanduhren drauf. Keine Ahnung was manche Firmen an merkwürdiger Software verwenden...
Also Reserve as in "irgendwer braucht auf der #WICMP11 eines", muss nicht zwangsläufig ich sein!

Fazit nach mehr als ein einer vollen Woche mit #Linux :
Ich habe noch nicht wirklich etwas entdeckt was nicht funktioniert. Es funktioniert teilweise nur anders als von Windows gewohnt.
Mein Mann hat #Manjaro installiert und ich #Mint.
Diese beiden Distros machen einige Dinge unterschiedlich, was manchmal die Kommunikation über "Probleme" erschwert.
Alles in Allem bereue ich den Umstieg nicht.

A year ago, I saw someone open a book lamp in a bar. It was a pretty expensive product. Since I combine electronics and paper crafting, I had to DIY it and develop an easy-to-use circuit template and instructions for it. This educational project is perfect for libraries. Please #retoot :-)
