Unfortunately we ARE going back to this, in Alberta. The whole point of book banning is to reduce exposure to diversity, especially to the most easily influenced. Who do you think benefits from that? Exposure to diverse views and experiences allows children to develop empathy, shielding them from control through reactionary hate speech, divisive politics, and disinformation. #abpoli #cdnpoli #books #censorship #Hate #HateSpeech #diversity #dei #inclusion

The ugliness of organized #hate campaigns is on full display, even here in the #fediverse. I find it bitterly ironic that they seem obsessed with the shooter being a #trans #woman, trying to blame it on her #gender. But they do not blame the gender of all the #men who have been mass shooters. One a day, on average, in the USA. #Canada is reeling from our second school shooting in a decade.
