Unfortunately we ARE going back to this, in Alberta.
The whole point of book banning is to reduce exposure to diversity, especially to the most easily influenced. Who do you think benefits from that? Exposure to diverse views and experiences allows children to develop empathy, shielding them from control through reactionary hate speech, divisive politics, and disinformation.

Donald Trump, and America's fusion of Christian Nationalism, White Supremacism and the Far Right, are not only trying to turn back the clock on #DEI but eradicate the entire idea that Slavery is a Bad Idea and that Black people have any place in American culture and society.
It might appear laughable at first, but hatred is insidious - if Heine were alive in 2026 not 1826, he would have been more specific:

Morning, all,
it's called #UNREP (Underway Replenishment) or #RAS (Replenishment At Sea); it's a routine evolution for any truly pelagic Navy.
But it's not without risk. Warships occasionally collide when manoeuvring two/three massive ships within 50 metres of each other at up to 18 knots.
An Inquiry will determine the cause of this complex casualty, but Donald Tantrump will undoubtedly blame #DEI, as the DDG's CO is Black.
