Ich glaube, #GoogleMaps ist besoffen. Ich schaue mir eine Fahrradroute an und der Scheiß lotst mich über die Bundesstraße und den für Fahrräder gesperrten Tunnel. #Bikerouter macht es richtig und lotst mich über die asphaltierte Straße / Weg beim Waldrand.

Reporters from The Washington Post’s Style section were dialing the White House switchboard to ask about First Lady Melania Trump’s outfit when, on many Android phones, the caller‑ID label displayed “Epstein Island” — the nickname for Jeffrey Epstein’s Little St. James. The phone number itself was correct; only the name attached to it was wrong, leading the journalists to wonder why the White House was being associated with the convicted pedophile’s Caribbean island. The glitch was traced to a brief “fake edit” in Google Maps that was pulled into Google’s call‑screening feature. The edit erroneously linked the White House number to the island’s name, affecting Android devices while iPhone callers saw no such label. After the Post reported the problem, Google confirmed the violation of its policy, reversed the change, blocked the responsible user, and by Friday the erroneous label no longer appeared. The incident comes at a time of renewed scrutiny of former President Donald Trump’s past connections to Epstein, especially after the release of the “Epstein files.” Trump has said he knew Epstein socially before a falling‑out but has always denied any knowledge of the financier’s criminal activities. Google maps is hilarious. I’ve been on a train for four hours and it has repeatedly decided that I’m on a nearby road and not following the railway line. So bad that I fired up Apple Maps as well. This is not a gps accuracy issue - Apple had my location consistently correct while Google was showing me following nearby roads. Trash! #GoogleMaps

Fascynuje mnie to, jak ludzie często podważają przeróżne opinie urzędu, na podstawie tego, że oni sami lepiej coś sprawdzili w Mapach Google. – Nie, tam tego adresu nie ma. Jest tam ulica Waligóry, no przecież widzę to na mapie. – Na jakiej mapie? – No Google. – Jak to nie ma dostępu do drogi?! Niech pan wpisze nawigację do tego miejsca no. Zobaczy pan. Pokaże. – Przepraszam Pana, ale nie mogę znaleźć takiej ulicy na mapie, możne Pan zweryfikować to na portalu mapowym gminy? – No tak, jak zawsze, urzędnicy pracują na nieaktualnych mapach.
