By 2026, over 130 countries representing 98 percent of global GDP are developing or implementing Central Bank Digital Currencies. This is not just digital cash. It is a fundamental restructuring of the relationship between state and citizen. Unlike physical cash, which remains anonymous and decentralized, CBDCs are the opposite. Fully transparent. Fully controlled. Fully dependent on whether your actions are approved by authorities. The most dangerous feature is programmable money. Specific mechanisms already being tested or discussed include expiration dates for currency, spending restrictions on specific categories of goods, geographic limitations on where funds can be used, and instantaneous disconnection from the financial system without court proceedings or appeal. China's digital yuan serves as the pilot project for global control. Operating across 25 cities. Seven trillion yuan in transactions. Tied to identity through passport, phone number, and facial recognition. Already used to block accounts of protesters. Already linked to social credit scores. The European Central Bank is piloting the digital euro with a 3,000 euro holding limit. Offline functionality means delayed synchronization, not true anonymity. Denmark has already removed mandatory cash acceptance. Sweden is moving in the same direction. Canada's 2022 Freedom Convoy showed what is possible: bank accounts frozen by government order. With CBDCs, that operation takes milliseconds and requires no judicial approval. Cash is being systematically phased out. CBDCs are being systematically phased in. The window for maintaining financial privacy is closing. #CBDC #Privacy #DigitalTyranny #Surveillance #Cash #DigitalEuro #DigitalYuan #FinancialFreedom https://newsgroup.site/cbdc-digital-tyranny-central-bank-control/

What is the digital euro? A guide to the future of cash in Europe. The European Central Bank (ECB) is working towards the launch of the digital euro – an electronic version of public money – with the aim of providing a safe, secure public option for making digital payments. The EU aims to launch the currency by 2029, but digital literacy and security are possible barriers. https://mediafaro.org/article/20260414-what-is-the-digital-euro-a-guide-to-the-future-of-cash-in-europe?mf_channel=mastodon&action=forward #DigitalEuroEurozone #EU #Money #Banking #Finance #CBDC #Europe

2026 is the year of global awakening against central bank digital currencies. What was sold as technological progress is increasingly recognized as infrastructure for total financial surveillance and control. The United States Senate just passed a bill prohibiting the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC until December 31, 2030. The message from lawmakers is clear: financial privacy is a fundamental right that must be protected, not traded for perceived convenience. In Europe, protests against the digital euro are spreading across Germany, France, and the Netherlands. Citizens are taking to the streets, collecting signatures, and demanding referendums. Constitutional arguments are being raised: the right to financial privacy is enshrined in basic laws. China remains the warning. The digital yuan is already used to: Block transactions at political rallies Impose spending limits on specific groups Integrate financial behavior into social credit systems Cut political opponents off from the financial system entirely The risks extend beyond activists. Journalists, religious minorities, and ordinary citizens who value privacy will all be vulnerable. Centralized systems also introduce new dangers: mass cyberattacks, technical failures that freeze millions of accounts, and the ability to confiscate funds without judicial oversight. Alternatives exist: defend cash as anonymous payment, support decentralized cryptocurrencies, and demand legislative bans like the one passed in the US. Financial privacy is not a privilege. It is a right worth fighting for. https://newsgroup.site/2026-global-resistance-cbdc-financial-surveillance/ #CBDC #privacy #finance #surveillance #digitalrights
