Curious thing I happened upon while checking out the article @jon@gruene.social shared: Effective 1 May, the Správa Železnic, Czechia's infrastructure manager, will stop including the delay reason in station announcements of delayed trains. They justify the decision by saying that, since only one reason could be included (and even that had to be picked from catalog of just 14 options), the announcement cannot be "completely objective" (and, well, also the fact that few countries do it). The zdopravy journalist adds that a particular issue was that, for the purposes of the announcements, delays caused by the train finishing its previous run delayed (the German "Verspätung aus vorheriger Fahrt") were announced as "operational train operating company reasons" even when said delay was actually caused by the infrastructure manager. This must have no doubt caused a serious issue with compensation claims at some point. https://zdopravy.cz/hlaseni-na-nadrazich-ceka-dalsi-zmena-bude-kratsi-zmizi-14-ruznych-vet-278042/ #Czechia #Rail #SŽDC #SpravaZeleznic #kolej
