#OpenAI releases #PrivacyFilter — an open-weight #AI model for detecting & redacting #PII in text. Runs fully locally, no data ever leaves your machine. Apache 2.0 licensed. #opensource 🧵👇#privacy 🔍 Detects 8 PII categories in a single forward pass: names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, URLs, dates, account numbers & secrets (passwords, API keys) — covering virtually all common sensitive data types

@foxyloon@blimps.xyz @joelle@social.joelle.us I'd only assume that if they want to collect #PII of any kind or ask too detailed questions that would make it statistically trivial to identify individual participants...

@signalapp@mastodon.world THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE REASON FOR #Signal TO DEMAND A #PhoneNumber (= #PII by circumstances if not mandatory doxxing to the governments aka. "#KYC")… so yes I do blame Signal because this attack vector is unique to #Signal's shittyness and would not exist with @monocles@monocles.social / #monoclesChat or even cock.li of all places…

We all need a personal #AI that has access to a handful of shopping, social media, youtube and other accounts. The AI needs to be set to act like multiple people with many differing data points, ages, locations, preferences etc. If the #databrokers are going to watch us, create a ton of garbage data for them. AI agents can even buy things for us, give them prepaid credit cards to use and make your purchases through them. The more they watch, the more garbage I create. #privacy #PII
