She returned the hug and then Yelantera was there too, though Miralees wondered whether the girl had even the slightest understanding of why she had been shouted at, or why they were now hugging. “And Stupid was worried about you,” she finished without much conviction. On cue, the gryphon’s beak nudged them. They lost their balance and fell to the ground in a damp heap. #LesFicFri "EXCUSE" It was only two days to the wedding. Polly had been up early for a change, without even a pause for a cuddle and fumble. Just a kiss and she was away. Once dressed, she set about checking through all the clothes she was planning to take, and seeing what needed a needle taking to it. The pile was not insignificant. Leaving Veronica with nothing to do. She lay in bed not wanting to interrupt Polly, but the prospect of dressing herself again did not appeal. Even if she did need more practice. Instead, she dozed for another hour and wished she had a book to read. Later, Polly stopped sewing, helped Veronica dress, and they went down to breakfast. After which Polly excused herself and went back to the bedroom to carry on with the sewing.
