Monreith Bay has many a tale to tell. St Medana was miraculously transported here on a floating rock, to found the beautifully atmospheric church of Kirmaiden. One of the oldest churches in Scotland.

The gatehouse of Crossraguel Abbey, near Maybole in Ayrshire. Founded in the 13th century by Duncan, 1st Earl of Carrick. It is halfway between Paisley and Whithorn on the pilgrims' trail to the shrine of St Ninian.

Dunure Castle, Ayrshire. They say that sometimes, you can still hear the screams of Allan Stewart, the Commendator of Crossraguel Abbey, as he was being roasted alive here by the Earl of Cassillis in 1570.

#silentsunday These are my latest experimental #solarigraphy shots. I used three identical cameras at different angles to create the animation. The exposure time was one week.
Shot on 3 same cameras:
• Zenit 12XP (USSR, ~1980-1990)
• Helios 44M-4 (USSR, ~1970-1990)
