One thing that angers me about the conversation around LLMs is the conflation of LLMs and AI in general. AI is useful and essential to harness computing at scale, to make edge computing and countless other essential cloud infrastructure possible. But we're being poisoned to think that spicy autocorrect and deepfaked porn is all we can do with this technology, and it's just not true.
