Israel's shills have been hard at work in the fair city and county... "Pressure group UK Lawyers for Israel wrote to Bristol City Council after the motion was passed, saying the council could face judicial review if it acted upon the resolution. In letters to Bristol City Council and the Avon Pension Fund, which have been seen by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, UK Lawyers for Israel claimed that the motion adopted by councillors was “unlawful and invalid,” that claims of atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza were “false,” and that it would be illegal for a decision to be based on the motion." #Bristol https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/pro-israel-lawyers-put-shocking-10919692

A new area has sprung up on #Bristol's periphery: Oldham Common. Wonder if it's anywhere bear Oldfield Common. 😕 #BadJournalism https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/shocking-video-shows-moment-recycling-10909303

@Shobeck@indieweb.social I have also complained to the ICO about #Bristol City Council. My last FoI to them (which was about waste management enforcement) took over a month for a response. I currently have the same request lodged with Stoke on Trent. I hope it will show how much better S-o-T is doing than its counterpart on the muddy banks of the Avon.

#Bristol Civic Society: “They will be depressing to look at and live and work among, especially in dull and damp weather. “This development requires a major redesign that results in a fresh and welcoming approach to Bristol, and is keeping with the brightness of Temple Meads. “It should not be a grim reminder of the dirty, grimy, smoke-stained buildings of industrial Britain.” https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/news/plans-approved-temple-island-tower-blocks/

Shorter waiting times for green man at #Bristol crossings. Why has it taken decades for something so modest and simple to be implemented? One very grudging cheer. https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/news/shorter-waiting-times-green-man-bristol-crossings/

"What will remain in the new configuration of the bridges are the cast iron ‘rope’ handrails on the older bridge that were saved from the original Harford’s Bridge. Along with the former Rope Walk pub (now the Dark Horse) on nearby Bedminster Parade, the ropes reflect the historical links with rope making in this area of south Bristol." #Bristol https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/features/hidden-design-feature-bedminster-bridge/

I took a 5 minutes stroll to the local shops - and 5 mins. back - then spent a good 15-20 minutes reporting the fly-tipping I encountered. #Bristol #TidyBS5

@StingrayBadger@zirk.us Shame there's no local government elections in my bailiwick this year. The Greens gained the most seats in last year's council elections in #Bristol.

"Liberal Democrat councillor for Whitchurch Park Tim Kent said: “The way Wessex Water just pumps sewage and uses our rivers as a toilet is a disgrace. “They’ve got away with this now for decades. They’ll happily take our money constantly when we pay our water rates, yet what do they do with our sewage? They just pour it into our rivers.”" #Bristol https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/news/denial-untreated-sewage-turning-brook-into-brown-sludge/

Dumping furniture on the street even if it is labelled 'Free' is still fly-tipping and can attract a maximum penalty of £50K and/or 6 months imprisonment. Give your 'free' furniture to a charity shop or put in on the likes of Freecycle or similar to avoid a criminal record and an empty bank account. #TidyBS5 #Bristol

"The West of England Combined Authority is responsible for managing the electric scooter and electric bike trial run by Dott." We pedestrians have been complaining about poor scooter parking for years, so change 'managing' above to 'mismanaging'. #WECA #Bristol https://www.bristol247.com/news-and-features/news/parking-bays-for-e-scooters-coming-to-bristol/
