Due to user error, my strobes weren't firing during my last dive. I managed to salvage some photos by reconfiguring my rig underwater and using my video lights instead, but it was obnoxious. The test to avoid this sort of issue is simple and easy. I should do it and you should too! https://blog.briangweber.com/camera-preflight/ #underwaterphotography #fail #scubadiving #scuba #camera #strobes #blog

I am now 4 dives into my fisheye lens journey, so I wrote down some things I've learned. If you have anything to add, definitely drop a comment below - I'm anxious to improve my skills! https://blog.briangweber.com/learning-fisheye/ #underwaterphotography #wideangle #fisheye #lens #photography #blog #olympus #om1 #nauticam

I found this roughhead blenny sticking out of a coral head in the Bahamas. I really liked the vibrant yellow color and how I managed to light him sharply against the dark background so you could see all of the fine details. https://briangweber.com/featured/roughhead-blenny-brian-weber.html #underwaterphotography #macro #fish #blenny #Bahamas #scuba #scubadiving #olympus #om1 #nauticam

Peirce Island in New Hampshire was positively overflowing with nudibranchs last week. This image was captured with my Olympus OM-1 and Olympus 8mm fisheye lens to really show off the abundance of hydroids (nudi food!) and great visibility. This image features a pair of Flabellina verrilli that were each around 4 inches long. It was a beautiful day in the chilly water! Just a little preview from my dive at Peirce Island in Portsmouth, New Hampshire yesterday. Easily saw hundreds of nudibranchs while I was playing around with my fisheye lens and freezing my hands off. More pictures to come! Captured with my Olympus OM-1 + 8mm fisheye. #scuba #scubadiving #underwaterphotography #NewEngland #nudibranchs #olympus #om1

I was just digging through images for a friend who requested a #pottery photo for their self-published print quarterly. My friend, Shoog McDaniel took these four years ago at a #Florida spring. I've shared photos from this shoot before and I probably will again. https://shoogmcdaniel.com/ #photography #UnderwaterPhotography #nature #water #QueerArt

I had seen Red-tipped Sea Goddess nudibranchs only once or twice before, but I saw probably 10 of them on this trip to the Bahamas. Most lived on dark colored sponges, but this one was out in the sand, which gave me a great opportunity to get in close for some super macro shots. I recently put together a new underwater photo rig featuring an Olympus OM-1 and fancy Nauticam housing, so I wrote a post about it! I barely had it in the water before a week in the Bahamas, but now I've got almost 30 dives on it 😁 https://blog.briangweber.com/om1-photo-rig/ #underwaterphotography #gear #olympus #om1 #mirrorless #photography #blog
