Last year, Thailand-based crypto businessman, Christopher Harborne, donated £12 million to Reform. Hong Kong-based British crypto investor Ben Delo has donated £4 million earlier this year. The government placed a £100,000 cap on donations to political parties by Brits living abroad last month. Spotlight on Corruption and Unlock Democracy are asking the question whether the cap should apply to all donations. I think it probably should? #RejoinEU #StandwithUkraine #ClimateCrisis

A former NATO senior commander calls Trump & his accolytes 'gung ho nutters' who have 'no idea how this stupidity will end'. Predictably #Farage, a gung ho nutter if I ever saw one, is prepared to follow Trump into a dystopian world of darkness & misery for millions, yet 'loads of money' for the fat cats. As Senator Bernie Sanders pointed out, even within the law of the US, this war on Iran is “illegal, premeditated and unconstitutional”. This hastens the need for a body with integrity to stand up to Trump's narcissistic bullying & irrational behaviour. My friends in the USA often ask about the “peace negotiations” and I tell them it’s all BS, strictly performative. #Ukraine, of course, desperately wants the war to be over and needs to keep showing that it’s open to negotiation just to offer its allies talking points for their voters. The main obstacle to ending the war is certainly Russia, which could end it today but won’t because of Putin’s delusional imperialistic ambitions. I explain this and end with “it all depends on #Europe.” The stalemate will persist until one side is too weak to continue. @anderspuck@krigskunst.social says essentially the same things in this 12-minute video, so I’m going to start sending it to my friends. Maybe you will find it useful, too. Now the University of Oxford, working with Colorado State University have developed a new method that not only destroys #PFAS but also recovers useful elements from them.
