🚂 #Railway veteran Alan Newman, 79, returned to the footplate of the historic Flying #Scotsman in #Birmingham, 40 years after driving it on London-Stratford specials in the 1980s. Alan, a Duty Control Manager at Chiltern Railways, spent Friday 20 February assisting visitors at Birmingham Moor Street as families flocked to see the locomotive. Having worked in rail since 1962, his roles have included train driver, instructor, station manager and operational manager.
