There has been a huge backlash after Amazon Ring advertised its dystopian surveillance feature "Search party" (dressed up as a way to find lost dogs). Now a $10,000 award has been offered for anyone who can find a way to run Ring doorbell cameras locally, cutting off the flow of video data to Amazon's servers. No other nation has ever, and probably will ever, build as dangerous and terrifying of a surveillance apparatus as the nexus of #Ring #flock and #Palantir. And now it’s in the hands of the most dangerous regime since 1945. We saw this coming. And we couldn’t stop it. I don’t know what happens next, but this is very bad.
