Nintendo really needs to add achievements/trophies to their platform. Other gaming platforms have had it forever. 2005 - Xbox Gamescore2007 - Steam Achievements2008 - Playstation Trophies2025 - GOG AchievementsI like achievements because it gives me something to play towards -- and it gives me something to look back on to see what I was playing and what I did in a game. Nintendo not having achievements discourages me from playing games on their platform if a game is available elsewhere. #gaming #videogames #nintendo #playstation #xbox #steam #gog

So I am indeed watching the Super Mario Movie.

I think it works like gangbusters because it’s riffing on 30-ish years of:

  1. Fun characters and iconography

  2. Gameplay situations that are inherently fun

  3. So much awesome music

One more thing about Hori's Super Game Boy Commander controller for SNES / Super Famicom that I find worthy of comment: it has the longest cable I've seen on a controller released in Japan. Typically they were notoriously short! #retrogaming #snes #nintendo
