Anthropic's Mythos AI model sparks fears of turbocharged hacking: Cyberdefenses could be exposed faster than fixes could be deployed. Anthropic’s new Mythos AI model is raising concern among governments and companies that it could outpace current cyber security defenses, turbocharge hacking, and expose weaknesses faster than they can be fixed. 🔓 https://arstechnica.com/ai/2026/04/anthropics-mythos-ai-model-sparks-fears-of-turbocharged-hacking/ #anthropic #ai #mythos #hacking #week #it #itsecurity #cybersecurity #weekness

Security — Anthropic's super-scary bug hunting model Mythos is shaping up to be a nothingburger - Hackpocalypse deferred Anthropic's Mythos model is purportedly so good at finding vulnerabilities that the Claude-maker is afraid to make it available to the general public for fear that criminals will take advantage. But early analysis shows that Mythos may not be as dangerous as some would have you believe. 🔓 https://www.theregister.com/2026/04/22/anthropic_mythos_hype_nothingburger/ #mythos #anthropic #claude #danger #ai #aislop #mythos #slop

More breathless, but vague praise for #Mythos. Now #mozilla's CTO has come out with a detail-free, hyperbole-laden blog post. I can't get anything below the surface level on this blog post. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. The blog post itself contains no links or references (except a link to a prior blog post)The Firefox 150 release notes has zero mentions of #Claude, #Anthropic, or Mythos. The security advisories in Firefox 150 lists 41 bugsAnthropic is credited exactly 3 times. The blog post says This week’s release of Firefox 150 includes fixes for 271 vulnerabilities identified during this initial evaluationit is not clear why the blog says 271, the release lists 41 issues, and only 3 acknowledge AnthropicI've tried looking on Mozilla's bugzilla and I have no access to any bug that is named in those release notes. I can't even see the conversation, much less the code change. How is someone supposed to put this blog post's claims into context?

#Mozilla has essentially endorsed Anthropic's claims about #Mythos after the model found 271 vulnerabilities in the Firefox codebase. But instead of seeing Mythos as a zero-day doomsday, CTO Bobby Holley hails it as a bounty for security auditing: https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/ai-security-zero-day-vulnerabilities/

So I ask myself cui bono? Who benefits from the story that #Claude #Mythos is the scariest creature in these woods? And who told us this story?

This Town https://youtu.be/5mQJb59YwzM?si=InWCoFDeO35M9Y2Y via @youtube@universeodon.com The past isn't a memory—it’s a physical law. 🫀 In "THIS TOWN," we treated Sound as Mass (Ms) and Color as Temperature (Tc). The result? A watercolor descent into 5D cosmic horror that deforms the frame as you watch.
