Regarding the April 20 editorial “Corporate welfare for hospitals is raising health care costs”: There are many commonsense, bipartisan ways to reduce the cost of health care in the U.S. but cutting the 340B drug pricing program is not … #healthcare #health #medicare

"Deliberately reducing a person’s income and savings to qualify for Medicaid can sound daunting. But without planning, the high cost of long-term care can quickly drain savings anyway. Assisted living and nursing home care can cost thousands of dollars a month, often forcing families to exhaust their resources before qualifying for assistance." https://apnews.com/article/medicaid-spend-down-nursing-home-care-costs-2295b93a42ecd32ea16fa9042e4c28c6 #healthcare #medicaid #medicare #NursingHome #SkilledNursing #HomeHealth #aging #PersonalFinance

Private Equity bros that I have complained about after they purchased the large medical practice that has my PCP, that they have sinced gutted, de-staffed, pulled all the money out of, polluted with call centers and Automated help, and are killing, just sent a referral for care that I do not need that, have not requested that they get a financial cut from, that was digitally signed by my doctor, and he was not aware of, nor requested or approved, and we both are pissed now. A year or so ago, they did this shit with the mail order colon cancer testing kits that is not recommended for me because I have had polyps removed regularly since I was a teen because colon cancer runs deep in the family, and I get regular, advanced colon cancer screenings. They ordered them for every patient in their large, multi-state practice... This time from an LLC that the investment bros own. This is the real #Medicare #Medicaid #HealthInsurance fraud that goes on.

FORTUNE: In less than a year, Trump erased 12 years of solvency for the trust fund that pays for Medicare Part A "The primary culprit for this accelerated depletion is a sharp reduction in the fund’s projected income, heavily driven by legislation passed over the last year. Specifically, the 2025 reconciliation act (Public Law 119-21, more commonly known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act) significantly reduced the revenues the trust fund normally receives from taxing Social Security benefits. This legislation lowered tax rates and established a temporary deduction for taxpayers age 65 or older. Consequently, this major policy shift enacted during the Trump administration has directly contributed to starving the Medicare safety net of critical future funding" #USPol #Medicare Yahoo page wrapper https://finance.yahoo.com/news/less-trump-erased-12-years-195408202.html Forbes: https://fortune.com/2026/02/23/how-trump-wiped-out-12-years-of-medicare-funding-cbo-one-big-beautiful-bill/
