E significa anche assumersi la responsabilità di riformare davvero la giustizia, affrontando i problemi reali: la carenza di personale, l’organizzazione degli uffici, la durata dei processi e le condizioni delle carceri. Per questo abbiamo detto con chiarezza che se vincerà il No apriremo una stagione di riforme vere e condivise, costruite insieme a magistratura, avvocatura, accademia e forze politiche, per migliorare davvero il servizio giustizia per i cittadini. Se invece dovesse vincere il Si’, lo ha detto la stessa Giorgia Meloni: il passo successivo sarà accelerare sul premierato, cioè su un ulteriore rafforzamento del potere dell’esecutivo e sull’indebolimento dei contrappesi istituzionali". Right-wing parties are trying to turn it into a political confrontation against the judiciary, but the independence of judges is not a corporate privilege: it is a guarantee for all citizens. Saying “No” does not mean defending the status quo. It means defending the Constitution and the balance of powers within the State. It also means taking responsibility to truly reform the justice system, addressing real problems: the lack of personnel, office organization, the length of trials, and prison conditions. That’s why we have clearly stated that if “No” wins, we will open a season of genuine and shared reforms, built together with judges, lawyers, academia, and political forces, to truly improve the justice service for citizens. If “Yes” were to win, as Giorgia Meloni herself has said, the next step will be to accelerate the move towards a premier system – i.e., further strengthening the power of the executive and weakening institutional checks and balances.
