Salt Cod, and Green Wine: The History of Portuguese Food I have been eating Portuguese food long before I understood its history. When I visited Portugal I learned that salt cod, and vinho verde carry centuries of survival, and faith. Food shocker for today! Strawberries aren’t true berries. Bananas are!
