AI and dating scraping by authorities and bad actors threaten the future of traditional, candid street photography of strangers in public places, so I went out to see if it was possible to capture street scenes that didn't put my subjects in danger. It wasn't easy, but it is possible, largely by relying on bright light and dark shadows.
