Go-Ahead #Ireland recorded more than 26 million passenger journeys in 2025, its highest annual total, according to figures published by the National #Transport Authority. The total represents an 18.2% increase year on year across the 37 public service routes it operates in the Greater Dublin Area. Across the wider Transport for Ireland network, passenger numbers exceeded 363.5 million nationwide in 2025. Go-Ahead Ireland achieved the highest percentage growth in the capital and the second highest across the national network. Growth was supported by the rollout of the #BusConnects network redesign, including six new routes in south #Dublin and #Wicklow and the introduction of the 73 cross-city service. The company said demand has risen steadily since the pandemic, carrying 18.6 million passengers in 2023. https://www.goaheadireland.ie/go-ahead-ireland-records-landmark-growth-2025

The #BusConnects #Ireland Preliminary Design Report set out a methodology for reviewing bus stop locations and design to improve safety, accessibility and efficiency. Stops were assessed to maximise catchment areas, meet passenger demand and maintain appropriate spacing, generally approximately 400m in suburban areas and 250m in urban centres. Locations were required to ensure visibility, proximity to key facilities, safe interchange and adequate space for shelters and footpaths. High-quality infrastructure, including real-time passenger information and cycle parking, was specified. Capacity planning considered bus bays and passing lanes where services were frequent. The process included data gathering, GIS catchment analysis, permeability review, public consultation and interchange assessment. 🇮🇪🚏🚌🚍 https://tallaghtclondalkinscheme.ie/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2023/05/Appendix-H1-Bus-Stop-Review-Methodology.pdf
