Lashunta Inspirational Memory - 1 yeat ago Artist: John Bolton So this pic's selection began as a trial to find an appropriately representative pic for a Korasha. It sorta succeeded. By the end, it became an exercise in reflection on the many stereotypes in Sword & Sorcery fantasy art, especially in how females are portrayed. Since the Lashunta are ruled by a Damaya Matriarchy, I've set myself a goal to avoid depictions of submissive females. It's not easy. The Evil Sorceress (exemplified here) is one of the few tropes where the female is not shown as submissive. To interpret this pic in a Lashunta context, this would likely be a scene in which contemporary lashunta artists interprest a tale from the Age of the Thief-Queens, who were infamous as skull-collectors. She has summoned something (her korasha warrior-harem? something more eldritch?) to deal with the hero. Whisper a hymn to her when your Thakasa leaps aloft, and when you land. On that note, how anthroporphic (lashunta-morphic??) are Lashunta gods? To what degree, and under what conditions, do they resemble their worshippers, or rather the concepts they represent? Author Coleen Houck has it uploaded to her site, referencing it as inpiration for her main character in the Tiger's Curse series, but I can't confirm who did it. I've been looking for good representations of psionics or psychic magic, as disntinct from typical-fanty arcan magic. My feeling is Psionics are less flashy, more internalized, the archetype being monks seeking enlightemenment within themselves and unlocing their inner mind's potential, instead of the more western-style wizardry as science aplied to metaphysics or making deals with demons. Lashunta Inspirational Memory - 4 years ago Artist is Raymond Swanland I've been imagining that bow & arrow is a high-value weapon style for the Lashunta, especially dwelling in (and up in) the megadendra rainforests. Limited-front engagements along a bough, set of swinging vines, or even up or down a tree trunk mean that missile weapons become a premium, or better yet - shooting down onto the forest floor. While Outrider-led Shotalashu cavalry may rule melee, there may be considerably fewer opportunities to bring that force to bear than even the noblest, eagerest Damaya lady-knight may prefer. Think the flying-lizard riders in the background are out of place? I would argue no. Starfinder canon for the Lashunta & Castrovel propose the Thasaka and their riders from Ofu-Laubu (Laubu Mesa). The Lashunta of this far northern city have been taming and riding Thasaka through Castrovel's cloudy skies since before the Elves abandoned that colony when the Return to Kyonin drained huge swathes of outlying populations back to Sovyrian. #pathfinder #pathfinder2e #lashunta #castrovel #rpg #ttrpg #worldbuilding

Considering they're grizzly size, this would become a formidable hunting party indeed. Until I came across this pic, I hadn't contemplated a lashunta might psychically bond with more than one shotalashu. This would make them more than a mere rider, put mistress of a whole pack.
