I didn't know I had a favourite musical director. Barrington Pheloung was the musical.director and composer for #InspectorMorse #Endeavour and #Lewis.
He also contributed to many films and tv shows
A wonderful movie about the du Pré sisters, Hilary and Jackie was incredibly scored.
The interweaving of #music and #opera with the dramatic themes of Morse is unmatched.
Pheloung was only 65 when he died in 2019.
The opening theme of Inspector Morse is simple but brilliant. Morse code for M.O.R.S.E.
Dated and maudlin at times, it is still classic #TV made better by the music and Morse's relationship to it.
