Arthur Verocai is the debut studio album by Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai, released by Continental Records in 1972. Retrospective assessments of the album have been positive. Jason Ankeny of AllMusic awarded the album 4½ stars. Ankeny described the album as "fuse[ing] Brazilian tropicalia with American funk, yielding a shimmering, dreamlike mosaic of sound that both celebrates and advances the creative spirit."[6] Hip-hop producer Madlib considers the album to be among his favorites stating, "I could listen to this album everyday for the rest of my life". - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQg-ItQRfMc #ArthurVerocai #BrazilianMusic #Tropicalia #Funk #BoassaNova #Music #MadLIb

Color Me Human by John KaSandra, released on Respect in 1970. Another one of Kasandra's leftfield sophisticated soul records, a bit hard to pin down, but still Righteous stuff. Recorded for Stax's Respect label, and featuring another installment in Kasandra's "Mose" song cycle -- "Mose part 3", which runs for 15 minutes, and takes up all of side 2. Other tracks include "Poor Black Woman Poor Black Man", "You God", and "Walk Tall (In This Here Land)" - Dusty Groove https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uf-qgW0pFY&list=RD1uf-qgW0pFY&start_radio=1 #JohnKaSandra #Stax #Soul #Music #Funk

The New Lee Dorsey by Lee Dorsey, released on Stateside in 1966. Review by Richie Unterberger Less than a year had passed between this and Lee Dorsey's previous LP, Ride Your Pony, and Allen Toussaint was again the prime creative force, writing material and co-producing. The sound, however, had definitely taken a step in a funkier direction. It's still lighthearted, though not lightweight, soul music with a New Orleans bounce, paced by the Top Ten hit "Working in a Coal Mine" and also including the Top 30 follow-up "Holy Cow." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCuWUwu1Rh8&list=RDfCuWUwu1Rh8&start_radio=1 #LeeDorsey #AllenToussaint #TheMeters #NewOrleans #Funk #Soul #Music

Ride Your Pony - Get Out Of My Life Woman by Lee Dorsey, released on Amy in 1966. Irving Lee Dorsey (December 24, 1924[1] – December 1, 1986)[2] was an American pop and R&B singer during the 1960s. Much of his work was produced by Allen Toussaint, with instrumental backing provided by the Meters. - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b8YCdkuiBQ&list=OLAK5uy_mS4-mI0PtiRFHSKp0kAK5sYEn3rn8AFZ0 #LeeDorsey #AllenToussaint #ArtNeville #TheMeters #NewOrleans #Funk #Soul #Music

"Easy" is a song by American #funk and soul band #Commodores from their fifth studio album, Commodores (1977), released on the #Motown label. Group member #LionelRichie wrote "Easy" with the intention of it becoming another crossover hit for the group given the success of a previous single, "#JustToBeCloseToYou", which spent two weeks at number one on the US #Billboard #HotSoulSingles chart (now known as the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=saaLW0jiiUE

Green Is Beautiful is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1970 and released on the Blue Note label. The Allmusic review by Steve Huey awarded the album 3 stars and stated "Green Is Beautiful finds the guitarist growing more comfortable with harder, funkier R&B than he seemed on the softer-hued Carryin' On... Green Is Beautiful proves that Green's reinvention as a jazz-funk artist wasn't the misguided disaster it was initially made out to be". - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL8NuQZWXnI&list=OLAK5uy_kRTGSbXj3oUyw6vseRCT8e9JEsoKXu9-8 #GrantGreen #BlueNote #Jazz #Funk #JamesBrown #TheBeatles #JazzGuitar #Music

Think! is the second album by American organist Lonnie Smith recorded in 1968 and released on the Blue Note label. The Allmusic review by Matt Collar awarded the album 4½ stars and stated "Think!, organist Lonnie Smith's 1968 release for Blue Note, is easily one of the strongest dates the Hammond B-3 master would produce for the label". - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V5Yg3xI8Bs&list=OLAK5uy_mVxAEm7NTC8pGwOQ4rRDe58BzJXy0-L2M&index=1 #LonnieSmith #HammondOrgan #LeeMorgan #DavidNewman #Melvin Sparks #Jazz #SoulJazz #Music #BlueNote #Funk #ArethaFranklin

Agree! The Greatest Guitar Solo You've Never Seen | Prince - The Aftershow | Joy in Repetition (Live 2002) by taner's funk kitchen https://youtu.be/FgP5VRp_myE On the album, the song is average. This live version is an absolute banger. Love the flute detail (sounds like one to me). #music #live #Prince #funk #GuitarSolo #l8n8music
