Helping organize the Scribe Southern (Luzon) Caravan for May 23. Still looking for a venue that can accommodate everyone that has good food. The Caravan is local retailer Scribe PH's mobile fountain pen pop-up. So far they've done Cebu, Iloilo and Davao. This time they're going to do the Calabarzon region. #FountainPens #Philippines

I heard recently that young people of today (under 30) have trouble reading linked handwriting, or cursive. Is that true? Some have reported scarcely being able to read it at all, which I find hard to believe. I do my lower case d's like a reversed number 6, and my r's can be normal or old style. What do you think, oh young person reading this? Can you read my handwriting easily, or is it a bit of a guessing game? (poll in the comments) #handwriting #analog #fountainPens

I am home from volunteering at the Manila Pen Show 2026. The first day was crazy! I think we had 1800 people today! The ballroom was huge and there were like 70+ vendors, and so many people milling about. We volunteers ate lunch late, were powered by coffee, and adrenaline. Now I am worn out, but happy. Yes, I got my Opus 88 Mini Sakura pen, and a couple of Vinta inks. And was gifted a pen wrap. So much fun, but I'm tired and feel my age. #FountainPens #ManilaPenShow #ManilaPenShow2026

Cleaned my Hongdian M2, and the attached Long Knife nib. It had shimmer in it, which it handled very well. One plus was that if I did not want to write with broad strokes I could turn the nib over and write with the other side, which gives me a 0.8mm italic, I think. It remains a wet writer even upside-down. #FountainPens

I think I'll keep the 1945 Parker Vacumatic in Emerald Pearl inked up, despite it being the quickest to dry out and not the best writer either. I just think it looks neat. #FountainPens

Not sure why I had five fountain pens inked up and sat on my desk for months. They of course all dried up. Some of them even evaporated most of the ink that was in their converter unit. A bit of water on the nib and feed got them temporarily working again. I should clean them out soon and just keep one inked at a time. Maybe also not ignore it for months. #fountainpens

I don't have a Japanese-style eyedropper fountain pen yet. So I preordered this, the Opus 88 Mini Sakura Cherry Blossoms, from a favorite local vendor. It will be ready for pickup at the Manila Pen Show 2026! Whee! #FountainPens

Am thinking of putting shimmer ink in one of my Majohn Wancai Minis. Redditors say they have done it successfully. I guess it will be ok since I can unscrew the nib unit to give it a rinse/scrub. Will try it one day soon. #FountainPens

Even in the shade, the Majohn Wancai Mini fountain pen in Peachy Pink (left) and Strawberry Pink (right) are very similar. The strawberry is just a tad rosier and more translucent. But both have the very fine blue and silver shimmers in the acrylic, so very pretty! Am not disappointed at all. Happy with my yellow and purple ones, too. But wondering about the baby blue one now. #FountainPens

Ohhhhh, this is weird: Pilot Pens, one of the most reliable fountain pen brands, no longer shows #FountainPens on their web site. Wonder if they’ve stopped production or sold the business? Or maybe their fountain pens will all be Namiki branding in future? Yikes, I’ll have to give them a call on Monday.

Saw this Starry Purple Majohn Wancai Mini fountain pen online and was able to get it for just under USD 4. My first Wancai Mini is a demonstrator, from before the pandemic. I thought this would make a good BTS fandom pen. Borahae! #FountainPens

Hey hey #artist friendos, I like to note when I get great customer service (in this age of increasingly icky corporate interactions), and I just had a wonderful exchange with Jade from Toms Studio. She helped me with a problem I was having and offered great solutions. A couple years ago I switched from using Microns to their refillable Lumos pen, and love it.
