Hoochie Cooche Man is a 1966 album by Jimmy Smith arranged by Oliver Nelson. The album title has also been spelled as Hoochie Coochie Man. Lightnin' (subtitled The Blues of Lightnin' Hopkins) is an album by the blues musician Lightnin' Hopkins, recorded in 1960 and released on the Bluesville label the following year. AllMusic reviewer Alex Henderson stated: "Lightnin' is among the rewarding acoustic dates Lightnin' Hopkins delivered in the early '60s. The session has an informal, relaxed quality, and this approach serves a 48-year-old Hopkins impressively well ... Lightnin' is a lot like being in a small club with Hopkins as he shares his experiences, insights and humor with you". Fame At Last by George Fame, released in 1964 on Columbia. Review by Dave Thompson ...A blistering romp through Fame & His Blue Flames' live repertoire of the day, fast and loose and driving, it captures one of Britain's best-ever R&B troupes stepping so far beyond the customary precepts of the Beat Boom that, if you were to come to this record without knowing who it was, there's no way you'd ever guess a bunch of (predominantly) Londoners were responsible. To pull out any highlights is to indicate that there are any corresponding low-lights -- there aren't. The Animals is the self-titled debut album by the British R&B/blues rock band the Animals. It was released in the United Kingdom on 6 November 1964 on EMI's Columbia Records Review by Bruce Eder The group's U.K. debut long-player, containing -- in the custom of the time in England -- not one of their singles up to that point, including "House of the Rising Sun." Apart from "Story of Bo Diddley" (which is, itself, heavily steeped in conventions out of Bo Diddley's repertory), everything here is a cover of traditional blues and R&B material, ..For adult orientation, The Animals is roughly on a par with the Rolling Stones' debut LP (though that album is also more fun).
