Research shows that growth-oriented strategies accompanied by redistribution policies are the most promising path to recovery across the Global South. Rather than imposing cookie-cutter #austerity programs, the International Monetary Fund ( #IMF ) should be following the evidence.

Question: so what is it like living in the 6th richest/largest economy in the world?
CNN: “The poorest fifth of the population are now much poorer [in the UK] than most of the poorest countries in central and eastern Europe,” says @MyStephanomics. “They would be better off in quite poor countries in the European Union.”
After 14 years of #tory and 1 year of #Labour #austerity, UK families now are at the spending level of Slovakia and are set to decline to below Poland in 2-3 years.
